As the name suggests, the larva feeds on the flowers of mugwort ( which is sometimes called " common wormwood " ), but it will also feed on the flowers of a range of other plants ( see list below ).
The larvae feed on the roots and lower stem of mugwort or common wormwood ( " Artemisia vulgaris " ), of southernwood ( " Artemisia abrotanum " ) and of golden marguerite ( " Anthemis tinctoria " ).
According to popular Arabic etymology, the name may have meant " Artemisia Mountain " in the Canaanite language, where Arabic " Tuur " for " mountain " and " shiiH " for " Artemisia vulgaris " ( mugwort, or common wormwood ) could be identified, or from " Taar shiiHaa " ( " Shiha flew " ), i . e . Shiha Jamaluddin ( a legendary hero ) rushed to the battlefield to fight the Crusaders.
